Majed Shabbir is one the UK's leading Andrology Consultants.
He is a past National Chair of British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) Andrology section, and is the current Clinical Lead of Urology at Guy’s Hospital (2023-), the Leading Urology Unit in Europe (as listed in World’s Best Specialised Hospitals for Urology -Newsweek 2025). He is the Southeast London Network Lead for Urology (2024-), and has been involved in writing several national practice guidelines for Surgical Andrology & Male Infertility.
At Guy’s he set up the largest male infertility service South of the Thames to the South Coast specialising in microsurgery and onco-fertility (fertility preservation in cancer patients). He has trained a generation of surgeons since his appointment at Guy’s (2012) and has been one of the longest running Tutors for andrology and male infertility on the BAUS FRCS(Urol) course, as well as being a Tutor for male infertility for the British Fertility Society (BFS) and the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (RCOG).
Maj teaches and trains surgeons internationally on a number of urology procedures, and has been an invited guest speaker around the world and has performed live surgery workshops. He is the co-lead of the AGOUR course, one of the largest andrology and infertility courses in the world (with >4000 registrations in 2024).
Majed specialises in all aspects of andrology and genito-urethral reconstruction, including complex surgery and prosthetics. He and his team have won several awards for their work in infertility, sickle cell, and prostate cancer aftercare. He is held in the highest regard by his peers and patients alike.
With years of experience, Majed specialises in Surgical Andrology and Genito-urethral reconstruction. He set up and runs one of the countries largest tertiary referral Andrology practices in the UK at Guy's Hospital. He received a National Clinical Impact Award for his work (2022). Majed is an expert in surgical andrology and penile prosthesis surgery. He is the Director and Clinical Lead for the Andrology Prosthesis Centre at Guy's Hospital, a supra-regional network for prosthetic surgery which includes Guy's Hospital, King's College Hospital, Imperial College and Oxford.
Majed is the cofounder of the Guy's Hospital Post Prostatectomy Service (PPS) with his Consultant Urologist colleague Arun Sahai, a clinic they co-developed in 2019 to redefine optimised care after prostate cancer surgery, to understand the factors involved in helping patients achieve the best functional outcomes and help return to a life normal after undergoing prostate cancer surgery.
The clinic and service had won 9 awards, including a GSTT Care Award (2023) and the UK Business Awards as the ‘Best Clinical Management System' (2023)

At Guy's he runs a national training fellowship in male infertility surgery and set up one of the few joint fertility clinics with Julia Kopeika in the Guy's Assisted Conception Unit (ACU), one of the largest fertility units in the UK managing complex cases.

Majed set up the joint sickle cell urology clinic at Guy's Hospital in 2013 with his Haematology Consultant colleague Rachel Kesse-Adu, managing patients with sickle cell priapism. The clinic has now expanded to King's College Hospital and the Evelina Hospital. He was awarded a joint grant with Rachel and the Sickle Cell Society (UK), and together with industry partners they produced a multi-award wining video on Sickle cell priapism aimed at children with sickle cell disease and their carers. Majed has been a UK National Haemoglobinopathy Advisory Panel expert member for Sickle Cell Disease since 2020, and is currently involved in writing national practice guidelines for Sickle cell priapism
Majed set up and leads the Southeast London Urethral Reconstruction Team at Guy's Hospital, a service he set up in 2012. He specialises is all types of urethral surgery including the use of the Optilume ballon device and urethralreconstruction including;
Together with his Consultant colleague Raj Nair, a leading expert in Robotic surgery, they also offer buccal graft reconstruction of bladder neck strictures, ureteric strictures, and PUJ strictures, with the largest experience this type of robotic reconstruction in the UK.
